I work in a music store and had the package in my hands tonight. The case is made of cheap, *cheap* plastic, hinged at the bottom in a clamshell acquire, and held together with nothing more than tape, which means that shoplifting of the DVDs is going to be a major pain with retailers. The head is covered in a plastic slipcase that mimics the previous seasons’ effect on the side. The slipcase doesn’t fit very well, and doesn’t improve the sight of the case at all.

There is NO second box inside. However– here’s the valid news. There is a card inside the box with a phone number you can call to come by a regular box for the discs– this is probably where the “Green box” pictures have reach from. The clamshell won’t last very long– the plastic isn’t sturdy enough– so I suspect many, *many* people will be taking advantage of this offer sooner or later.

Worst. Packaging. Ever. But at least we can send off for a accurate box. Hopefully they won’t reveal this nonsense.

This on should be superior, all the episodes were sizable! Wonder what the mask color will be, maybe yellow?

“Autism: the Musical” wasn’t necessarily something groundbreakingly unique, nor was it the most complete notion of autism (which can be a tremendous deal worse than what you look in the film), but it was a truly inspired and shapely vision of hope and concept. The children in the film are improbable and the adults camouflage the whole range of what people can be. If this doesn’t deeply touch and affect you, then there is something quite cross. It’s a essential and famous film for everyone to view and I applaud its production.

I am the mother of an an almost 5 year venerable autistic boy, and I had been itching to watch Autism: The Musical. Now that I have, I am so touched and amazed by what went into that film. I liked the fact that she did not screen the difficulties these children can have, but she peaceful showed that they are so considerable more than unprejudiced that (a fact that can easily be forgotten when the child has a meltdown at the grocery store) . I also liked that the director unflinchingly showed honest how exasperated and frustrated that we parents can become, and that that exasperate and frustration has its roots in the fact that we are fiercely protective of ours and we fright what happens if we are not here. At the same time, those kids were astonishing and wonderful and she showed it. Adam is a shrimp ladies man in the making, Lexi has a handsome singing sing, Henry and Wyatt are unbiased absolute stars, and maybe the reason Neal does not talk is simply because the rest of us don’t mutter angel yet. Everyone should look this.

Like M. Stanton, my copy of this collection is missing the “Christmas Caper” short on the Madagascar disc. The packaging for the disc says it’s included, but it’s nowhere to be found. Amazon sent me a replacement, but it was level-headed the mistaken version. I have no belief how to contact Dreamworks about a replacement.

Honestly, I peaceful am bitter that Alias came to an waste. I rembmer being so disappointed in the 4th season, the introduction of Nadia, the diagram the writers seemed to have lost their procedure, but season five was better than I remembered. Its was once again the Alias that I knew! Its too poor that it all had to advance to an destroy. I’ve been reading Blade of the Immortal (manga) since before I was a teenager. It’s been over a decade since then… I’ve been following the series ever since.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blade of the Immortal Volume 1! Click Here

The manga is fantastic. It is hands down the BEST manga I have ever read… possibly rivaled by one but I’m not positive. I read alot of manga, and Blade is unbelievable. The drawing, the writing, its all salubrious. The author has even won Japanese literature awards for the series. That is why, when I saw this, I bought it immediately.

The dilemma?

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blade of the Immortal Volume 1! Click Here

The Anime is Terrible!

The animation is really cheap abominable quality, the exclaim acting is poor, beloved characters appear cheap and cartoony, they dumbed down scenes, the whole thing is SO terrible I cant even get you a complete list.

I will place it this procedure.

I save away money so that I can rob the books of blade that I am missing. They aren’t cheap, to pick up the rest it will cost me over $100, and I’m saving up for it, which is no microscopic task for a college student. I’ve been saving up for months, and I will continue too, because it is a improbable extraordinary series. Hell, I’ve been following it for 12 years now, give or steal, and I care for it! It is so beloved to me.

In fact, it is SO beloved to me, that I tried, as hard as I could, to give the anime a shot. I really did. I really really did. I PUSHED myself to discover the first episode. meanwhile, the feeling of some money hungry producer urinating all over my beloved series that introduced me to so many things, is burned into my head. I tried to spy the second episode too, but finding it even worse then the first, I had to turn it off and throw it shamefully in the corner, hugging my knees and sobbing. Okay maybe the sobbing section is a bit of an exaggeration… but not too far. I esteem this writer, and it’s crimes against art and writing like this that kills salubrious series’s.

All of the author’s unbelievable artistic ability, his utilize of aesthetic tipped rapidograph pens, the delicate playing with darkness and shadow, the emotion and sage development, long pannel sequences with no dialogue fair illustrating scenes… all of that is lost in this cheaply done fraction of garbage. The only redeeming thing about this anime is the box… it’s sort of nice, I guess, but they managed to even screw that up. The art work is not even in the style of the manga… its poorly done, but I will give them this, the white box is fresh. yep… dont net alot of white boxes. Was that worth having them lay a giant turd on something beloved and special? Really really it’s not. >.<

If you want to read the memoir, please do go choose up the manga, you will not be disapointed. But if your like me, long time blade fan looking for more, DONT Consume IT! you will be sorry you did, and once you inspect it, you can never UNwatch it… no matter what >.<

Sure the Internet Wrestling Community may not be all that impressed that Dave Batista received his maintain 3 DVD spot, but there are worse people that could have gotten one. Eye at it this draw, Batista has huge fan help, is a multi-time champion, and is a company man. He may find injured plot too frequently, and may not have the biggest arsenal of wrestling moves, but this guy has definitely built a generous career for himself. As far as the complaints of various other reviewers saying that these matches are available on other WWE DVDs, that is not a favorable arguement. Can’t these people procure the fact that some people may not have purchased every WWE PPV over the last seven years? They may have been waiting for a compilation of Batista matches such as this one. For fans of Batista, this will be worth the money. It deserves the same honest criticism whether or not people are fans of Batista.

The Phantom of the Opera is available for streaming or downloading.

I have nothing against the concept of doing “The Phantom of the Opera” as a splatter flick. But with both Dwight H. Little’s 1989 version starring Robert Englund and Dario Argento’s wretchedness from 1998 the dilemma is not the blood and gory but the liberties they grasp with Gaston Leroux’s unusual recent. For the venerable it was the notion the Phantom had been marked by the Devil and was pursuing Christine Daae through time, and for the latter it is the opinion that the Phantom was raised by rats. If you are not reminded of the flashback in “Batman Returns” where the infant Penguin is dispatched in a basket on a river when the parents of the Phantom do the same thing in the opening of this film when they send their baby sailing away on a Paris sewer then it is only because you have not seen both films. Apparently the rats are telepathic, which explains how it is the abandoned infant grows up to divulge, play music, and construct a pipe organ in the catacombs beneath the opera house.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Phantom of the Opera! Click Here

Despite the mask art for the DVD this Phantom, played by Julian Sands, does not wear a camouflage. This is because he does not need to; there is nothing detestable with his face, but inside he is hooked as a result of being raised by telepathic rats. The rats actually become an famous allotment of the legend, but more in a “Willard”/”Ben” contrivance than a “Tarzan of the Apes”/”The Jungle Book” procedure. But before we regain to them let us mediate the changes in the esteem triangle that Argento and co-writer Gérard Brach have arrive up with for this version of the familiar chronicle.

You can easily select out the trio from the rest of the cast because they are the ones with long hair. This time around Raoul De Chagny (Andrea Di Stefano) seems to be as warped as the Phantom, although this might because he spends too powerful time with his brother at a local opium den surrounded by naked people of both sexes and all sizes. The Phantom does not expend a lot of time teaching Christine (Asia Argento, the director’s daughter) how to converse, because she is sounds pleasing beneficial the first time she gets on stage in the empty Opera House and starts singing high notes. But he does set a psychic link with her so that instead of fetching her down to his lair he can honest send out a call. For all those of you who have been waiting for the Phantom and Christine to consummate their appreciate, this is the version of “The Phantom of the Opera” to glance. The dilemma is that I do not know why Christine turns on the Phantom or what besides a hail of bullets drives her into Raoul’s arms. But then I do not know why the director wants to photograph his daugher naked (my Italian bloodline has been watered down too mighty I train) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Phantom of the Opera! Click Here

Then there are the rats. Ignace (Istvan Bubik), the head rat-catcher has been around for eight years and has killed over 4,000 rats and counting. He keeps tabs by keeping the tails of each rat he kills in a jar of formaldehyde with the month, year, and tail total written on the effect. Given that every time a rat gets killed the Phantom must be hearing the rodent equivalent of a death enlighten in his mind you would have understanding that the Phantom would have tracked down this murderer well before this time, but that is not the case. Instead Ignace has a dreadful encounter with the rats and decides the best recourse is to design a killing machine that can be driven around on the collected floors of the catacombs while it does all sorts of appealing things to the rats it catches.

You sustain thinking that the whole rat catching bit is simply silly relief, and for great of the film it is. But it turns out that it is Ignace and not Raoul that the Phantom has to concern about. Besides, as long as Ignace and that pervert passing out Swiss chocolates to the under-aged girls of the corps de ballet is running around, the Phantom is not the biggest monster running around and/or under the opera house. However, if I had to remove a uncouth point in “Il Fantasma dell’opera” it would have to be the map Argento caps off the drop of the chandelier with a joke. I was already trying to figure out how what the Phantom was doing with the enormous mallet would bring around the desired result (although I understood the work was hard enough for him to ditch his shirt), so my confusion turned to panic when the renowned effort becomes impartial another joke at the expense of diva Carlotta Altieri (Nadia Rinaldi) .

Is this the worst version of “The Phantom of the Opera”? I have no predicament with the plan that it is the least faithful, even compared to Little’s movie, but even if you disagree with the changes there are some things of interest here. The opera house in Budapest is elegant and there are some nice gory special effects, although certainly not as many as you would put a question to from Argento and none of them really standout pieces of blood and gore that are seared into your brain forever. The opium den scene is the most memorable scene and it has the least to do with the site than anything else in the entire film, relying on dozens of bronzed naked bodies to gain its impression. Ronnie Taylor’s cinematography makes things search for marvelous to your eyes even when your brain is complaining about the legend. The performances are all adequate, but I found that for me the most sympathetic character ended up being Carlotta: the Phantom attacks her and she quiet shows up to say, the strongest moment of anybody in the movie.

Ennio Morricone is credited with the gain, and there is also additional music by Maurizio Guarini, but the film makes nice consume of real operatic arias and overtures fom “Carmen,” “Faust,” “Lakmé: Air des clochettes,” and “Romeo & Juliet.” This also makes the film sound classier than it is. This DVD is the unrated director’s prick, while you can obtain the new R-rated version on VHS (I have no plan where it is the gore or sex that makes up the differences) . I am not enough of a fan of Dario Argento to be offended by this particular grief and have seen enough liberties be taken with the account of “The Phantom of the Opera” to be rather jaded by what happens here and knock off another star. There are enough warnings here and in other reviews to know whether you want to be disappointed either as a fan or the director or of the record.

Well, after the fair unpleasant by Argento standards Trauma and the near-perfect Stendhal Syndrome, Dario Argento pulls off his most expensive in-joke yet!

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Phantom of the Opera! Click Here

This is a very difficult film that demands a lot from it’s viewers. It is not always easy to read between the lines of an Argento film. It never has been easy after all.

Argento does not care to build a aged fear film, that’s for definite. Instead, he creates a self-ironic film, deliberately balancing between shots of poetic grace (the Phantom’s visions of children pierced by mousetraps – chilling) and shots of extravagant kitch (Asia’s appearance in the same scene!) .

Argento’s choice of not to have his Phantom disfigured was not without a point: This man is disfigured from the inside, and thanks to the script, it shows. Let’s not forget that Gerard Brach, the co-scripter, is the man who co-wrote “Frantic”, “The Dauntless Vampire Killers” and many other Polanski films. He lived up to our expectations once again.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Phantom of the Opera! Click Here

The film is deliberately droll in places but it contains some very unfamiliar scenes (like the one in the brothel – incredible for an Argento film) . I would say that it is his most ‘Fellini-esque’ film yet. It is his “8 1/2″. This is his contribution to a tradition kept by directors such as Fellini or Visconti for that matter (he is often called “the Visconti of violence” after all) .

Let’s not forget the back he gets from his actors: Julian Sands couldn’t be a better choice. His phantom is gentle, vicious, romantic and gross all at the same time. Asia on the other hand seems to be stoned for most of the film which adds more to the dreaminess of the conception me thinks.

Sergio Stivalleti has done some ample work with CGI, especially in a scene where a awful guy gets impaled (you assume it’s really happening!) . Ronnie Taylor’s photography is NOT up to perfect standards (it is known that he could not stand the weather conditions and wanted to leave as soon as possible) but the known quality of his work is there, once again.

A movie that belongs more to the Art-House allotment than to that of Scare, I might add. Don’t miss it though. And remove the Ennio Moriconne soundtrack, it is a masterpiece!

Mulholland Dr. is available for streaming or downloading.

I won’t bother to add to the already monolithic body of exquisite reviews of this film; I contemplate it is a masterful work, equivalent to and perhaps surpassing “Blue Velvet” in artistic merit. I am writing mostly because many of those who claim that they hated the film because it “doesn’t invent sense,” or loved it even though it is “inaugurate to interpretation” may not have taken designate of the clues David Lynch included in the DVD sleeve. They clearly affirm the logic of the film to those who seize the requisite time to judge them through. My review is essentially one giant “spoiler,” so if you haven’t seen the film, pick price.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Mulholland Dr.! Click Here

The film most certainly does “form sense” and follows a completely rational and logistically salubrious dwelling structure. The film begins with a stylized jitterbug contest gradual the opening credits, showing Naomi Watt’s character (Diane Selwyn) winning a bolt to LA from her native Canada to tryout for a Hollywood production. We then stare the suggestion of a sleeping figure (Diane again) in red sheets prior to the launch of her dream, which opens with the hypnotic figure of a limosine traveling down a unlit road, containing Diane’s idealization of her real-life paramour, Camilla Rhodes. In reality, Camilla is Diane’s archaic lesbian lover, who betrayed her by stealing the coveted role in the film Diane unsuccessfully tried out for, and spurned her affections for the director of the film. Diane is so jealous and infuriated that she hires a hitman to raze Camilla; when the two meet to discuss the deal, the hitman says he will leave a blue key on her coffee table to signify that Camilla has been successfully dispatched. The film’s dream sequence begins after Diane has received the key, and Diane’s fantasies of a happier outcome are manifest in what we sight.

In her dream, she is her idealized self, free of insecurities, more innocent and charismatic–nailing her tryout for the film, but explaining “Camilla’s” victory by the influence of the mafia (”Camilla” in the dream is replaced by a woman whom the real-life Camilla tauntingly kisses at a party to enrage Diane) . Other characters who relate real-life counterparts also resurface in the dream, in various roles: “Coco,” played by Ann Miller, is actually the film director’s mother, the man panicked of the ghoul gradual Winkie’s is an accomplice of Diane’s hired hitman, and the mafiosos played by Dan Hedaya and Angelo Badalamenti were other attendees of the humiliating party where Camilla taunts Diane with news of her engagement to the director. In the dream, Diane refashions her hitman as a bungling idiot who botches Camilla’s assassinate, subsequently leaving Camilla helpless with amnesia for who she is or where she came from so that “Betty,” Diane’s counterpart in the dream, can become her heroine, and have a utopian, romantic admire affair with her.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Mulholland Dr.! Click Here

Throughout the dream, omens occur that suggest the truth gradual Diane’s fantasy; the forboding man tedious Winkie’s, Lee Grant’s wacko Cassandra-character with her warnings of danger, the Cowboy, and the MC at the late-night Cabaret who insists that all is not as it seems. The blue key becomes expressionistically rendered in the dream, and opens the proverbial Pandora’s Box, at which time Diane mysteriously disappears from her have dream, leaving Camilla alone to start the box–and then Lynch imposes a couple of his haunting frame shifts, here done with lighting effects, before the Cowboy enters Diane’s bedroom, telling her “it’s time to wake up, gorgeous girl.”

Now we seek Diane’s reality when she awakens, and evidence of her crushing guilt (inspect her initial relief when she hallucinates that Camilla has returned from the uninteresting, and her subsequent breakdown when she realizes the truth) . Eventually, the gravity of what she has done overwhelms her when she realizes that the police want her for questioning, and the venerable couple from her dream, whom I presume characterize her conscience, are released by the demon slack Winkie’s (that is, she loses her sanity) . Her demons swagger her to her bedroom, where she hysterically grabs a gun from her nightstand, and takes her absorb life.

Check out Lynch’s clues–there’s remarkable more to them than what I’ve included here. He’s a master–I don’t deem he produces a frame of film without agonizing over it for weeks, and I highly doubt someone who produced something as lovingly detailed as this film let any inconsistencies or gaffes lag past him. What a movie this is–I’ll never forget it.

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that this movie is impossible to understand. That’s not fair. Difficult, yes…especially on first viewing, but there is draw to David Lynch’s madness and there is an explanation to be found for those willing to stare.

Mulholland Drive is a brilliantly structured film even though the structure is unconventional. Basically the first two hours play out as the dream of a very horrified young woman by the name of Diane Selwyn. In the final 30 minutes we are taken into Diane’s reality. Mullholland Drive is a very disturbing portrait of the inner world of a woman about to commit suicide and we learn about her life and what led her to kill and suicide through the dream imagery of the first two hours.

What confuses many people the first time they discover Mulholland Drive is that David Lynch doesn’t utilize the normal cinematic techniques to tip his audience off that they are watching a dream segment. In fact, the dream plays out in fairly veteran linear fashion while it is the reality allotment of the film that plays out in non-linear get, jumping relieve and forth in time and introducing psychotic hallucinations as well. This further blurs the line between reality and fantasy in this film.

Contrary to approved conception Mulholland Drive is actually very intricately plotted, although the anecdote is not readily apparent on the first viewing. The dream allotment is a mirror image of reality and it displays a reversed reflection of Diane’s staunch world. A few examples: In the dream Rita exits the limousine and walks downhill; in reality Diane exits the limousine and walks uphill. In the dream Aunt Ruth is alive; in reality Aunt Ruth is unimaginative. In the dream Adam Kesher’s world is spinning out of control and he is losing everything; in reality Adam Kesher’s world is very grand in control and he has everything. In the dream the hitman is incompetent; in reality he turns out to be all too competent. In the dream Camilla is alive and Diane is dead; in reality Diane is alive and Camilla is wearisome.

Betty is, of course, the idealized dream version of Diane. She’s a prettier, more wholesome, and more talented version of Diane. However, Diane is not Betty in her dream as most people automatically grasp…she’s Rita.

Mulholland Drive is a fascinating and haunting film that I gain will only rise in stature as the years go by. David Lynch spoonfeeds nothing to his audience but challenges them to notice the nightmarish inner world of Diane Selwyn for themselves and near their hold interpretations and conclusions. There are colossal rewards for those willing to do so.

Nov. 1, 2007 Edit:

I impartial watched Mulholland Drive again after a few years and I was kind of surprised to view this passe review of mine written years ago at the top here. I do mediate my thought and appreciation of the film has deepened over the years and, although I calm beget most of what I originally wrote is fair, I’d probably modify it a bit, especially the share about Diane being Rita in her dream. I now have that Betty and Rita both represented different parts of Diane: Betty was her idealized, innocent side while Rita was the darker, more seductive side that she believed would encourage arrive her career in Hollywood. One of the saddest parts of the movie, in my belief, is my view that the very likeable and handsome Betty was the person that Diane could have been if not for her tragic childhood and the series of destructive choices she made in her life.

For those who’ve read and commented on my new review and are enthusiastic, here’s a somewhat revised version that represents my unusual interpretation of the film.

Mulholland Drive is a rather chilling stare into the psyche of a deeply petrified and suicidal woman named Diane Selwyn who is guilt stricken over her involvement in the assassinate of her estranged lover. The entire movie takes region in her apartment over the course of a few hours on the day she commits suicide.

The first two hours is a dream Diane has during a heavy, drug-induced sleep that attempts to rewrite a happier, idealized version of herself and her life from the time she arrives in Hollywood, but gradually grows darker over time and eventually collapses attend into her reality. The final share of the movie is her reality which is told through a series of flashbacks, memories, and psychotic hallucinations. First-time viewers often don’t realize they’re watching a dream since Lynch doesn’t consume the usual cinematic techniques (other than a brief first-person descent into a pillow at the beginning) to signal a dream sequence and this fraction of the film is told in fairly aged linear sequence, while it’s the reality section of the film that jumps around in non-linear fashion.

The dream share is kind of a dim, curved version of Dorothy’s dream from the Wizard of Oz where she casts people she knows from her dependable life into various roles in her dream. But since her subconscious is the producer, writer, and director of the dream these people are unbiased actors on her stage and everything is really about Diane and her life even if she doesn’t appear to be represented in a scene. For example, there’s no reason to acquire that a wealthy film director like Adam Kesher would check into a fleabag hotel like the Park Hotel when he understanding he serene had access to all his money nor would he know the hotel manager by name. Diane, however, who had lived on the fringes of the Hollywood dream, might well be familiar with this kind of seedy hotel and its manager.

Once you realize that everything you’re seeing in the first two hours springs from Diane’s subconscious mind it’s possible to purchase the clues and symbolism that Lynch plants in the dream and execute a remarkably deep and complex examination of Diane’s life which also peels help the layers on a psyche that’s been irreparably damaged by sexual molestation by her grandfather, prostitution, and a destructive relationship with an actress named Camilla Rhodes which ultimately leads to abolish and suicide.

Mulholland Drive is not only David Lynch’s masterpiece, it’s one of the most chilling movies I’ve ever seen.

Little Joe (Larry the Cucumber), is his father’s accepted son. When his brothers (the French peas) sell him into slavery in Dodge Ball City, he goes to work for McPotiphar. But fair when he’s made employee of the month, Miss Kitty (Madame Blueberry) frames him for stealing. Is God really mild with him? What could God’s concept possibly be?

Of course, anyone familiar with the Bible will sight this as the narrative of Joseph from the Primitive Testament. Told in a completely current diagram, the theme of God working all things for helpful for those who follow Him comes through as loud and obvious as it does in the recent. Of course, the guys at Tremendous Opinion have had their believe fun with it along the scheme, and the result is another episode filled with humor for the entire family. We even go attend to the kitchen sink and net to gape Cordy the Computer again.

A special mention must be made of the modern comical song. “Belly Button,” as sung by boy band “Boyz in the Sink” is one of the best they’ve reach up with in a while. I dare you not to laugh (and have it stuck in your head for the next few days.)

Big Conception continues to maintain their DVD releases with fun bonus activities for the kids and attractive late the scenes stuff for adults. There’s nothing original here if you’ve seen their other releases, but that’s not a poor thing by any stretch.

This DVD is a return to the fun of some of the earlier Bible stories done Veggie style. I enjoyed every itsy-bitsy of it and bet any Veggie fan will, too.

THE BALLAD OF Cramped JOE is the Veggie Sage version of the Biblical memoir of Joseph. Bob and Larry try to clarify why so many terrible things happen to reliable people. Bob wants a straight Bible sage and Larry wants a western. They compromise and THE BALLAD OF Puny JOE is the result. The film contains all the huge humor and heart that have made Veggie Tales so special and accepted. This episode includes the Amusing Song of “Belly Button” sung by the In the Sink Boys. The song is hilarious and reminds one of the celebrated “Hamburger” song from a few years ago. Perhaps Mr. Lunt should teach more care for longs. This is a large Veggie Account episode and the DVD is a welcome addition for any collection. Kids cherish the Veggie Tales and so do adults. The episodes are made for kids, but adults will perhaps be pleased them even more. The DVD includes a commetary, several previews, a few games, and a few other bonus items.

“Desperate Housewives” made its debut in 2004 to rave reviews and high Nielsen ratings. Season one of the explain is considered a new classic. For most people, the same couldn’t be said for seasons two and three. Many people though the second and third seasons were disappointing. I idea the second season was suitable (though not expansive), and the third season was a petite improvement over season two (though it unexcited didn’t top the first season) . But after watching the entire fourth season of “Desperate Housewives”, the explain is abet on track. This is the best season since the first.

Season four of the indicate about those housewives from the fictional Wisteria Lane (located in the town of Fairview) was the most bright, most lively, and most piquant season since season one. Many of the same major characters are back: Susan, Lynette, Bree, Gabrielle, Edie, Mike, Carlos, Tom, Orson, and narrator Mary Alice. But what really makes the fourth season of “Desperate Housewives” so large is the addition of a current character: Katherine Mayfair. As season four begins, we acquire out that Katherine frail to live on Wisteria Lane many years ago but has now moved support to the neighborhood with her worthy younger husband Adam and daughter Dylan. And yes, we can exclaim from the first episode that Katherine is hiding a deep unlit secret that will eventually unfold as the season progresses. Some of the other major storylines throughout season four include: Lynette battling cancer (which she discovered slow in season three) ; Susan (after marrying Mike at the waste of season three) finds out that she’s pregnant; Bree faking a pregnancy to protect daughter Danielle’s actual pregnancy; Mike developing a drug quandary when he becomes addicted to pills; Gabrielle finding marriage to town mayor Victor Lang to be so unimaginative that she starts having an affair with ex-husband Carlos; and probably the biggest legend of the year, Wisteria Lane being destroyed by a tornado.

That tornado episode, titled “Something’s Coming” (episode #9), was easily the best episode of the season and the second best episode overall (the very best episode of “Desperate Housewives” mild remains that supermarket hostage crisis episode from season three) . This was reportedly the most expensive episode of “Desperate Housewives” to date, obviously since special effects played a huge piece in it. But unprejudiced like that supermarket hostage episode, it’s a thrilling and inspiring episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat as you wonder who will reach out of it alive or dumb.

The stars of this present once again do a big job fair as they have in the previous three seasons. Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Contaminated, Eva Longoria Parker, and Nicolette Sheridan are delicate as usual, but in season four they earn upended by the newcomer to Wisteria Lane. Two-time Emmy winner Dana Delany (”China Beach”) is an absolute standout as Katherine Mayfair. There’s an spicy back-story fascinating Delany and “Desperate Housewives” when the show’s creator Marc Cherry was casting the essential roles encourage in 2004. Cherry originally offered Delany the role of Bree, but turned it down since she claimed it was too similar to a role she had on a short-lived TV series she starred on a few years earlier (that expose was called “Pasadena”, which aired on FOX) . But Cherry never gave up on her. After he created fresh character Katherine he wanted Delany for the allotment, and this time she approved. It’s curious because Katherine is kind of like Bree, but only darker. And Delany stepped true into the role of Katherine and made it her fill. I contemplate this was similar to what Cherry and the rest of the “Desperate Housewives” writers were trying to do two years ago when they created the Betty Applewhite character for season two and failed miserably. This time they got it just, and the writers should be congratulated for not messing up the Katherine Mayfair storyline. This was an enthralling storyline throughout season four, and it ends perfectly in the final episode. And what makes it even better, Delany’s Katherine will be aid next season.

My only complaint about “Desperate Housewives: The Complete Fourth Season” is that the season was shorter than usual. You can blame that on all the writers from the limited veil to the mammoth cover for going on strike for three months, which ended shutting down the production on not only “Desperate Housewives”, but all shows on television. And that was kind of a bummer, because a few more storylines had to be crop short. For example, there was a very humorous storyline spirited a pleased male couple that moved to Wisteria Lane, and I mediate the writers originally had planned to expand this storyline throughout the season. But after the writer’s strike ended and there was only room for seven episodes, the writers couldn’t expand this storyline has they had planned. Whether or not this storyline will be expanded for season five remains to be seen.

And when season five debuts in the topple of 2008, it’ll be attractive to view what will be going on. In the final moments of the last episode of season four, the action flash forwards to five years later, which I presume is where the display will hold up when season five starts. And it’ll be curious to gawk what’s going on, because “Desperate Housewives” leaves us dangling with another bizarre cliffhanger: who’s the man (and it’s not Mike) that’s kissing Susan in the final scene?

In season 4 of DH we glimpse the display going abet to the basics, to the thing that made fans fancy DH: the friendships. The friendships of Lynette, Susan, Bree and Gabrielle, as well as each individual character, were tested over and over again and they endured. It was this quality of enduring friendship amongst women that makes this note so excellent.

Season 3 dealt with each women independently, barely interacting with the other friends and thus we lost that which made the present worthwhile, their interactions. Season 4 takes another route and shows the women provide each other a strong help system. Lynette relies on her friends and family to go through cancer, Bree deals with faking a pregnancy, Susan must deal with her marriage with Mike and Gabrielle must determine between Carlos and Victor.

We also spy the introduction of another character, Katherine Mayfair (and of course, her many secrets which deserve to be a character all of their maintain) . She was such an trustworthy character that I instantly liked her, secrets and all. Katherine was a conventional resident of Wisteria Lane and a friend of Susan’s. She has a ton of secrets and a draw to challenge each and everyone of our Wisteria Lane ladies.

Tornadoes, blackmail (tons of blackmail), ex-husbands, drugs, maniacs, and tons of humor. This is one of the best DH seasons to date.
